Henry VIII might be the most infamous of all Tudors, hardly surprising seeing as he had six wives and beheaded two of them, but they weren’t all bad! The Tudors did great things too…and this costume will surely inspire any child to step back in time to the days when a football was a blown-up pig’s bladder and you might be severed tortoise or peacock for your tea.! Luckily things have changed .
The tabard is red and blue and decorated with gold across the chest, just as in Tudor times the clothes of the wealthy were embroidered with gold thread. A red and blue hat with a large red feather is included, giving a very smart and colourful look. In Tudor times, clothes were a means of displaying how wealthy a person was and this costume with its rich colours and gold detailing looks like a fairly luxurious outfit, fit for a king even.
This tunic costume is ideal for school curriculum days, historical event and any occasion for dressing-up. Kick-start your child’s imagination and take a look back through time with this wonderful Tudor costume.
